Monday – October 23rd – Revelation 14:6-7 -----
14:6) Then I saw another angel flying in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach to those who dwell on the earth--to every nation, tribe, tongue, and people—
7) saying with a loud voice, "Fear God and give glory to Him, for the hour of His judgment has come; and worship Him who made heaven and earth, the sea and springs of water."
The Daily Walk Bible inspirational thought for today:
MONEY ALONE HAS NEVER YET MADE ANYONE RICH.*
Hello Monday! Today I want to take a moment to give a BIG shout-out to one of the SunRise staff members. Yesterday evening, our very own worship director, James Jones, “walked the red carpet” at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville. James was part of a local worship band – “About The Journey” - that was nominated as the 2023 Gospel/Christian/Inspirational Group of the Year at the Josie Music Awards. You can let James know your support and appreciation by sending him an email – jjones@sunrisefamily.org or by posting on his Facebook page. Yes, we are very blessed by having an all-around talented and awesome SunRise staff.
In our pick verse today, John introduces us to a new portion of his vision that begins with the appearance of a new winged messenger of Heaven. The message of this first new angel was to proclaim to those who live on the earth a renewed chance for salvation. God is a God of second, third, and even thousandth chances. He is not yet ready to give up if even one remaining soul on earth will come to their senses. It took the prodigal son standing in hog manure feeding the pigs food that he coveted for himself before he came to his senses. I have often wondered why folks, who were still on earth going through the horrific events described in the last ten chapters, would be so resistance to God’s offer of salvation. But for some people their pride, arrogance, and/or lack of humility can blind them to the truth of Jesus. Thankfully, we have a God who is willing to forgive and then wait for us to catch up or catch on.
Blessings
Pastor Jim
