Tuesday – October 24th – Revelation 14:8     -----

14:8) And another angel followed, saying, "Babylon is fallen, is fallen, that great city, because she has made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication."

The Daily Walk Bible inspirational thought for today:
WHEN YOU DON’T FEEL LIKE READING YOUR BIBLE, THAT’S THE TIME TO READ IT.*

Welcome to Tuesday! This weekend we usher in the last Saturday of October – wow where did 2023 go – as a fifth Sunday of the month. Of course, this means that we will celebrate Family Worship at the 9:45am service. Youth and children are invited to worship, but not just to be in the room, but to be part of the room. From on-stage to behind the cameras to welcoming at the doors, our up-and-coming generation of believers will be serving as well as worshiping. There will still be nursery care for the little ones, but elementary through high school will be standing strong in the worship space.

In our pick verse today, John’s vision expands with the introduction of a second new angel. This angel’s message continues the theme of judgment against the forces of hell. Crying out the doom that “Fallen is Babylon the Great”. Because the prostitute city of Babylon and her judgement are described in greater detail in chapters seventeen and eighteen, we will wait until to fully expand on its destiny. Whatever Babylon is, she stands condemned because she made all the nations drink the maddening wine of her many adulterous actions. Just as the 144,000 were symbolized as sexual purity, so the opposite group is symbolized by prostitution.
