Friday – October 27th – Revelation 14:11 -----
14:11) And the smoke of their torment ascends forever and ever; and they have no rest day or night, who worship the beast and his image, and whoever receives the mark of his name."
The Daily Walk Bible inspirational thought for today:
WHEREVER YOU SEE PERSECUTION, TRUTH IS OFTEN ON THE PERSECUTED SIDE.*
Happy Friday to you! To follow up on yesterday’s Serve Saturday reminder, one of the biggest areas of need for sign-ups is to help with landscaping on the SunRise playground. We will certainly accept help from anyone who enjoys landscaping, however the organizers suggest that most of the work will be considered medium to heavy landscaping to remove some grass to make a more usable play area. I have already put my name on the list and will be bringing my tiller to make the project more manageable. Go to the SunRise events page (website or app) and click through to the Serve Saturday page and then to the playground option. Thanks, and see you there!!!
In our pick verse today, we read the third installment of John’s vision that is focused on the message of the third angel in this chapter. The first angelic description of judgement on the wicked was full strength unmixed bitter wine. The second was being tormented with burning sulfur. Now the third punishment is no rest day or night for choosing to worship the beast and proudly displaying its demonic mark. Imagine the horror of knowing that you will never, never get any rest again. On one hand the inhabitants of Heaven will sing praise to God without ceasing – while that is certainly around the clock – there is a peace that accompanies this heaven-based activity. On the other hand, the thought of enduring endless torment for ever and ever carries with it an awakening factor that should help people to change their loyalties away from the devil. It would certainly cause me to rethink being on an ungodly path.
Blessings
