Good Saturday to you! We have arrived at the last Saturday in October of 2023 and with it come more traditional fall like weather. This is also the second weekend of our new series “Don’t Give The Enemy A Seat At Your Table”. This is a great study on the 23rd Psalm and how it is both a psalm of comfort and a psalm that equips us for spiritual warfare. This week we will use the story of the temptation of Jesus in the wilderness as the backdrop to better expose the tactics of our enemy, the devil. Join us in-building at either 8am or 9:45am. For those who are unable to be here in person our live-stream service is at 9:45am followed by unlimited on-demand options on the SunRise Church YouTube channel beginning at 11am.
In our pick verse today, John wraps up the proclamation of the third angel with a word of encouragement to all believers. During this time of great and unprecedented tribulation on earth, there will be those who will come to their senses and respond with a positive affirmation to follow Jesus’ teachings. While now believers, they are still immersed in the horrific events bringing the world to its conclusion. John’s revelation message is for them to be patient, to endure for the time being, and to keep focused on being faithful to Jesus. As believers today, we are encouraged to live a life that resembles that of Jesus. The believers in the last days will be encouraged to do the same at a time when persecution will be far more severe and evenly deadly. Patience, endurance, and faithfulness must then be uttered with every breath taken – for us and for them.
