Monday – October 30th – Revelation 14:14 -----
14 Then I looked, and behold, a white cloud, and on the cloud sat One like the Son of Man, having on His head a golden crown, and in His hand a sharp sickle.
The Daily Walk Bible inspirational thought for today:
JESUS HIMSELF PRAYED FOR US, AND GOD LISTENED. WHAT ENCOURAGEMENT!*
Hey Hey to Monday! Yes, my friends, today marks the beginning of a new week in each of our lives. Our inspirational thought is filled with great encouragement if you are seeking to be a fully committed follower of Jesus. One of the greatest pastimes of humanity is to engage in the game of name dropping. You know how it works, each of us has our own list of famous people we know personally, have had our picture taken with, or have seen somewhere in public. The game is played by trying to “outscore” the other player by having the most recognizable name on our scoresheet. Let me ask you, have you ever name dropped that you are BFF with the savior of the world and that the creator of the universe knows the number of hairs on your head? Hmmm… Seems like that would be a hard duo to beat in any name-dropping game.
In our pick verse today, we begin a three-verse segment of John’s vision that introduces the biblical promise of God’s great harvest of the saints. The great drama John has been watching from his “theater seat” in Heaven now reaches the grand finale with the first of two scenes. In this first scene, John sees a white cloud, with someone like a son of man with a crown of gold and a sharp sickle. Clouds in the Bible often represent the majesty of God’s presence (think of the Exodus journey). Now the cloud represents Jesus return at the end of the ages. The color white in Revelation usually symbolizes purity, thus Jesus is identified as the purest form of God to the world. The sickle is representative of the harvest tool used in the middle east in John’s world. Jesus is coming back as promised by Him in Mark 13:26 and 14:62 to take with Him all believers on earth. Cue the sign guy that the end is near.
Blessings
