Wednesday – November 1st – Revelation 14:16 -----
14:16) So He who sat on the cloud thrust in His sickle on the earth, and the earth was reaped.
The Daily Walk Bible inspirational thought for today:
WITHOUT GOD, WE ARE NOTHING.*
Hello Wednesday! Today we begin a new month and a countdown of 61 days left in 2023. Our inspirational thought for today is a great way for us to reflect on the Christian remembrance of All Saints Day. Every person who has lived for Jesus qualifies for this special consideration. By the mere fact that when we choose to follow Jesus, we become part of God’s side of spiritual warfare. In the regular military, anyone from private to general is thanked for their service. Today, not only should we remember that we are surrounded by a great cloud of witnesses who have finished their race, but also take a moment to thank a believer for their service to the Kingdom of Heaven. Because, as our inspirational thought states – we are nothing without God.
In our pick verse today, John continues to record the work of Jesus’ judgement on the earth. In this single brief verse, John graphically describes Jesus’ return for the saints destined for Heaven. This verse is one of two places in Revelation which biblical scholars have tabbed as the location of the rapture. While the word “rapture” is not used anywhere throughout scripture the event itself is best described in 1 Thessalonians 4 where believers are caught up in the air to meet the Lord. Both Revelation 14:16 and the interlude between Revelation chapters three and four are the most discussed points for the rapture. Frankly, good arguments can be made for either of these spots. Personally, for me I lean toward the earlier “rapture”, if nothing more than to just to avoid all that has happened in the last ten chapters. However, I am confident that God’s plan for that moment of time is perfect, and I will be ready in either case.
Blessings
