Welcome to Monday. I am excited that one of our biggest outreach projects kicked off yesterday. You can help support our annual local mission opportunity this Christmas by donating items to The Christmas Depot @ SunRise. The Christmas Depot was created to offer parents a chance to purchase gifts for their children at a reduced price. This event is by invitation only - partnering with local schools to identify those in need this holiday season. Simply choose an item from the list accessible through the website on the events page and then drop them off at the church anytime between now and December 1st. Thanks for your help!
In our pick verse today, we begin chapter fifteen and the second “great spectacle” which is framed by the seven last plagues sent to the earth. This chapter begins with John observing another great sign from Heaven, this time seven angels coming with seven plagues. With these seven plagues God’s wrath reaches its ultimate and final goal. There is a lot of speculation as to the length of time for these seven plagues to be completed. With the earth’s water being destroyed by the end of the third plague, it is hard to imagine that the entire sequence could possibly take more than a few days from start to finish.
