Wednesday – November 22nd – Revelation 16:8 -----
16:8) Then the fourth angel poured out his bowl on the sun, and power was given to him to scorch men with fire.
The Daily Walk Bible inspirational thought for today:
OUR FRIENDS TAKE US TO THE GRAVE AND LEAVE US THERE, BUT GOD WILL NOT.*
Hello Wednesday! What an ominous and thought-provoking inspirational thought for today. As followers of Jesus, we will confidently enjoy one-day the reality of this statement. I have learned through my previous profession that the number of mourners at a funeral has no direct correlation to a life lived in and for Christ. I have attended both extremely large and very small funerals plus every size in-between. The only thing that really matters when we reach the grave is our relationship with Jesus. Faith and belief in Jesus means eternity in Heaven, while a disbelief in Jesus will result in an eternity in Hell. We have the choice for ourselves, and we have the task of helping others discover the truth of God’s invitation to Heaven.
In our pick verse today, John returns for the dispatching of the fourth angel of wrath from the throne room of Heaven. This angel focused his bowl of wrath on the sun. The result of this bowl of God’s wrath intensified the sun’s heat so much that it scorched people with fire. In contrast the fourth trumpet judgement had caused the sun and the moon to stop giving light for portions of the day. The fourth bowl was much more serious and deadly. This is probably what we would picture as a solar explosion that reaches out and scorches the earth with fire, far beyond anything ever experienced since the creation of the world.
Blessing
