Hello Tuesday! As mentioned yesterday, this coming Sunday officially begins the liturgical season of Advent. This year we are promoting our first Advent Food Drive. Each Sunday of Advent we are encouraging our inbuilding attenders to bring specific items for the Food-4-Hope food pantry here at SunRise. So, on December 3rd our collection will focus on breakfast items: cereal, oatmeal, Poptarts, and pancake mix/syrup. Items can be dropped off at the SunRise Mission Porch (east lobby) or at the Twin Chimneys entrance. For on-line worshipers you can have items shipped to the church at 7116 Twin Chimneys Blvd, Ofallon, Mo. 63368. Thanks for you help in stocking the food pantry!
In our pick verse today, John continues with his vision recording the reactions of the forces of evil to the bowls of wrath God has poured out on the earth. As this sequence of events unfolds, the world’s armies are being called to arms, they probably suppose they are on the march to fight together to restore the beast to power. What John tells us is that they are actually being gathered for the battle on the “great day of God Almighty”. The Old Testament prophets, when referring to God’s judgement on the nations, tags this future event as simply “the Day of The Lord”. The long anticipated final battle between the forces of good and evil is coming quickly.
