Monday – December 4th – Revelation 16:20 -----
16:20) Then every island fled away, and the mountains were not found.
The Daily Walk Bible inspirational thought for today:
THE BEST FORM OF SPIRITUAL EXERCISE IS TO TOUCH THE FLOOR REGULARLY WITH YOUR KNEES.*
Welcome to Monday! What a great inspirational thought for us to start off our week! Prayer is not just for mealtimes, prayer can happen other than Sunday mornings during worship, prayer can be more than just reserved for moments of extreme crisis. Prayer is one of Wesley’s spiritual disciplines to be practiced on a regular basis. 1 Thessalonians 5:17 states we are to “pray without ceasing”, because prayer is our direct line of communication with the God who has created us and who has given to us the gift of salvation. Let’s agree to be diligent this week in getting in lots of prayer exercise this week.
In our pick verse today, John, adds another layer of effects from the seventh bowl of God’s wrath has on the earth. It is important to note that the total destruction described in the next few verses parallels the flood of Noah’s day. For the first time since the flood every island fled away, and the mountains could not be found. Since this is not the results of another flood, as promised by God to Noah, it is very possibly the result of fire as alluded to in 2 Peter 3:10. It would be hard to imagine what is going on in the minds of people as they witness the disappearance of things considered forever stable. Such is the nature of foolish thought that eliminates the power of God over all things that exist.
Blessings
