Monday – December 11th – Revelation 17:5    -----

17:5) The name written on her forehead was a mystery: BABYLON THE GREAT THE MOTHER OF PROSTITUTES AND OF THE ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH.

The Daily Walk bible inspirational thought for today:
THE TRUE MEANING OF THE GOSPEL IS NOT WHAT A PERSON SAYS ABOUT IT, BUT HOW IT CHANGES HIS OR HER LIFE.*

Hello Monday! Our inspirational thought for today knocks it out of the park as we start a new week. We are in the season where an increasing number of folks tend to look at this whole Jesus thing through the eyes of Christmas. For most folks this is a testing of the waters to see if the claims of Christianity are worth their time and effort. Most of the curious will look at people they know who claim to be Christians and will draw their conclusions from their observations. The inspirational thought for today states that to be follower of Jesus a person has an ongoing discernible change in their pre-Jesus life. The sixty-four-million-dollar question is if that change is observable in your daily life. The easiest form of witness is living like a follower of Jesus.

In our pick verse today, John continues to describe the great prostitute as she spews her wickedness upon the earth. With her royal attire, jewelry, and golden cup, this prostitute allured and seduced others with great success. Written on her forehead was a name that John recorded as being a mystery. However, John does record her three-part title as Babylon the Great, the Mother of Prostitutes and, the Mother of Abominations of the earth. Each of these three titles and an explanation of the “mystery” on her forehead will be explained in more detail in the remainder of this chapter. To this point the main takeaway for us to remember is that the devil is a master deceiver. That which is presented as perfect, desirable, and enticing should always be approached with caution.

Blessings
