Tuesday – December 12th – Revelation 17:6 -----
17:6) I saw that the woman was drunk with the blood of God’s holy people, the blood of those who bore testimony to Jesus. When I saw her, I was greatly astonished.
The Daily Walk Bible inspirational thought for today:
THE FAINTEST WHISPER OF ENCOURAGEMENT UTTERED TO A CHRISTIAN BROTHER OR SISTER IS HEARD IN HEAVEN.*
Welcome to Tuesday. As the holidays are approaching now is a great time to begin thinking about ways you can serve as part of the SunRise Church family. One area that is growing in need, because SunRise is growing, is in our Hospitality Ministry. Not only do we need extra ushers, greeters, communion services, and refreshment folks for the Christmas season, but the need continues into the new year as we welcome new folks to SunRise. It is easy to sign up and of course every task comes with top-notch training. Go to the SunRise app or webpage and click on the “events” tab to locate the “Hospitality Sign-Up graphic. Thanks, and welcome to the team!
In our pick verse today, John wraps up his description of the symbolic prostitute that has dupped the people into following Satan. While the immorality and idolatry of the prostitute city have been clear from the beginning of this section, her hatred and murder of the people of God is only now made know. Unmasked for who she really is, this once glamorous woman now appears as a staggering drunk, the blood of the saints dripping from her mouth. What appeared as beautiful is now revealed as hideous. This grotesque picture is a hard reminder that no matter how sweet her words she, as a representative of the devil, has no respect for God and cares nothing about humanity. A lecture that we should all take to heart before it becomes a lesson learned from experience.
Blessings
Pastor Jim
