17:17) For God has put a plan into their minds, a plan that will carry out his purposes. They will agree to give their authority to the scarlet beast, and so the words of God will be fulfilled.

Good Saturday to you! The countdown to Christmas Eve sits today at 1. Yes, tomorrow is the big day for worship celebrations reminding us about the birth of Jesus. As mentioned earlier this week, our times are adjusted from a normal Sunday morning. You can check out the times at either the SunRise website or app. What I am really excited about is the next installment of our series “Embracing The Chaos”. Over the last three weeks we have explored the chaos of the UnExpected, the UnComfortable, and the Uninvited. Tomorrow our focus shifts to living into the UnConditional love of God that comes to us at Christmas. There are probably still a few waves of Christmas Chaos that can still arrive over the next week, but with God’s unconditional love on our side we can manage all that the world throws at us.
In our pick verse today, John’s angel guide gives us a quick insight into the ultimate power God has over all things created. God has built into the universe a law of sowing and reaping that cannot be violated by humans or demons. Galatians clearly state that a person who sows to please selfish desires will from those same desires reap their own destruction. The final ruin of the prostitute harlot city clearly demonstrates this law of just rewards. Those who thought they were serving their own ends – or the ends of Satan the dragon – will ultimately serve God’s end. God cannot be frustrated, mocked, or deceived. God’s plans are always fulfilled and are carried out without fail. That is great to remember as we move toward celebrating the birth of our savior.
