The Daily Walk Bible inspirational thought for today:
WE ARE NOT AT OUR BEST PERCHED AT THE SUMMIT; WE ARE CLIMBERS, AT OUR BEST WHEN THE WAY IS STEEP.*

Happy Sunday to you! The last day of the year has arrived and with it all the “close out” activities of the year. Our inspirational thought for today is a great way to end 2023. Life is a journey that begins the moment we are conceived in our mother’s womb and ends – well never. Yes, time on earth may end, but scripture repeatedly tells us that we transition on to eternal life. If you have accepted Jesus as your savior, then eternity is spent in the presence of God in Heaven. If a person has rejected a relationship with Jesus than their life after an earthly death is spent in a place of eternal torment best described by Jesus as a place of wailing and gnashing of teeth. The journey to either place is difficult and challenging and we need to keep our eyes on the first-place goal of Heaven and not the consolation prize of hell. How have you fared this year in your climb toward Heaven?

In our pick verse today, John continues to write what he sees and is told by his many angel guides. A new angel now appears before John and will stay with him through verse number twenty. Today’s voice from Heaven is directed to the people of earth who still might listen to the invitation of God. A warning is given to the people, a warning that is appropriate to any generation of believers that we must be careful not to compromise our values with secular civilization. While this warning is easy to read, it is much more difficult to put into practice. The devil is a master at masking those things that are not of God to appear as things approved by God. Remember, scripture is clear from beginning to end that God has a drawn a clear line of demarcation for his people. On one side is commitment to Christ and moral convictions; on the other side is identification with the world. Surround yourself with those who can help hold you accountable in knowing the difference.

Blessings
