18:6) Do to her as she has done to others. Double her penalty for all her evil deeds. She brewed a cup of terror for others, so brew twice as much for her.

SATAN, LIKE A FISHERMAN, BAITS HIS HOOK ACCORDING TO THE APPETITE OF THE FISH.*
Hello Tuesday! Yes, today restarts after the holiday back to reality of normal everyday life. Kids are returning to school, folks are heading back to work, church activities are ramping back up, and prayers are being lifted up for winter weather to jump in and add a little excitement to an otherwise mundane month. Still a couple of Saturdays away, Financial Peace University is an awesome opportunity for you to get a fresh outlook on your personal finances. Great for couples, singles, or even teens, this class covers the importance of developing a financial spending plan as well as how to best direct your income so that you will have more money at the end of the month. In our pick verse today, John is recording the words of his current angel guide who is detailing the sins of civilization, referenced as the city of Babylon. The angel voice that had commanded God’s people not to partake of Babylon’s sins continues by issuing a command to a different group of unnamed heavenly beings. The recipients of this message will be given the power to destroy this final version of Babylon. Biblical scholars suggest this unnamed group of God’s servants are the same as the seven angels with the seven last plagues introduced by John at the beginning of chapter fifteen. According to this verse God’s scale of judgment against those who reject Him is to receive a double portion of what they did to persecute the followers of Jesus. In the Old Testament first born sons received a double portion of their father’s inheritance as a blessing. In this verse those who rejected God receive a double curse for their rebellion.
